The Row Resort 2017

As Resort 2017 collections are about to hit stores and their lookbooks are being released, we instantly begun to reconsider, if we should book a tropical vacation to delight us in the winter months. No wonder as most of Resort collections make justice to stripes, summery dresses and wearable vacay pieces in general – not that I would mind. A humorous example is Balenciaga’s Resort collection for the season.  I love The Row for their refined and effortless elegance. The brand’s Resort 2017 collection makes a case for staycation even though it includes a few lingerie-inspired pieces and lighter tones. I still feel that their tailored coats and other understated pieces as well as the casting, starring Frederique van der Wal and Audra Avizienis next to younger models, make a strong statement for the image of the brand. P.S. The Row’s store in Los Angeles serves as a perfect virtual trip on a Saturday afternoon. I would love a staycation in Melrose Place, just saying.

3 x The Row Bag

The last couple of bags I have purchased have been what I would call IT-bags, bags that you would have often seen on social media. I have bought and worn them with love, simply because they have touched me in one way or another, and still do. But lately I have begun to fall for understated bags which still manage to look chic. Right now I am very into The Row’s selection of bags, and this season there is also a thing for velvet bags – you feeling it?

The Crispy Blouse

Pick Of The Day

You can never go wrong by wearing Levi’s vintage denim paired up with a crispy white blouse – eternally stylish, cool and very sexy. Actually, I think there is no such thing as owning too many white blouses. It is good to have a few options, no?  While I was doing the usual, scrolling down Instagram last night, I spotted Alexandra Nataf wearing the most perfect and chic white blouse. I had to figure out its origin straightaway, and what is even better, it is a classic from Protagonist.  Definitely on my wish list.

Protagonist SS17

Collection Crush

Protagonist – one of my personal favourites when it comes to refined and effortless fashion – published their lookbook some time ago. No need to say I am head over heels for the collection.   Instead of sticking to neutrals, the new collection includes shades of green and blue and sunkist orange, and there was also a hint of glitter in some of the looks. Especially the silver silk dress and the sunkist raincoat catch my attention – this is how I want to dress in the spring.  Vanessa Axente styled by Executive Creative Director of The Line, Vanessa Traina, and photographed by Alexandra Nataf for the Spring and Summer 2017 lookbook of Protagonist.

Seasonless Wish List

The Hottest Pieces

I like the new seasonless approach many designers have explored – for example, there were sandals on the FW16 catwalk at Céline and the Olsen twins have been sporting sandals with winter pieces, heavy? There is no need to go so extreme, but the truth is, many of us travel and live in places where the weather is not such a limiting factor. I like unexpected combinations and timeless choices, and thus I believe some experimentation makes it more interesting.
