Bow Mania

Trendspotting: Bow Ribbons and Details

Better late than never, but I am currently inspired by all sorts of bows everywhere, whether as a hair accessory or something else, and it is all solely thanks to Vanessa Traina. It is a girly trend, but also cool if combined with the right pieces. Hopefully you saved one or two ribbons from Christmas Day.

Brand to Know: Ana Khouri

Ana Khouri is a Brazilian fine jewelry designer based in Sao Paolo and New York City who takes a sculptural approach to her designs. Every piece from her line is limited edition and handcrafted from Fairtrade 18-karat gold. I love her aesthetics and the fact that every piece is an investment for years to come – something that is going to be loved and nourished, and what makes one’s style unique. These eye-catching pieces would upgrade any simple outfit – best worn with a white blouse or a black turtleneck sweater, and yet they would be prefect for day and night. Definitely on my ‘one-day’ wish list.

Christmas Wish List

To Give And To Receive

Christmas presents are a tricky subject – I am all about giving practical things for everyday life or experiences. A good gift is not about its monetary value, but more about its thoughtfulness. Obviously giving becomes a bit easier when you know the other person well. I exchange gifts with only a small number of people because I don’t think we should worry about Christmas presents as much as we do (the best gift is to be present in person), and because I rather give something that is meaningful.   If you are still looking for the perfect gift for someone, I have listed a few chic yet practical ideas which I would love to either give or receive. Hopefully you find the list below helpful.

set of six long-handled tasting spoons ASSORTED WOODS, soho 2017 croc-effect leather diary SMYTHSON, ‘Red Hedy’ luxury lipstick RODIN OLIO LUSSO, monogram wallet GUCCI, ‘Rapello’ scarf TOTÊME, hair brush MASON PEARSON, canvas lounge chair FRITZ HANSEN, créme de la mer facial cream LA MER, ‘Biarritz’ beach towel TOTÊME, textured-leather shoulder bag PRADA

Eyes On Manolos

Pick Of The Day

If I had to choose my all-time favorite shoe, I would most likely pick a pair by Manolo Blahnik. I have yet to purchase my first pair, but I’ve got strong feeling that is going to happen soon. Right now I’ve got my eyes on ‘Carolyne’ mule which is a classic style – that shoe would look so chic, casual and timeless worn with a pair of jeans. ‘Carolyne’ mule MANOLO BLAHNIK   I like most of their styles, but bow-detailed shoes feel particularly trendy – see my other picks below:

Decor Inspiration

As a Thursday night treat I wanted to share decor inspiration –  I have begun to pin more, especially decor articles, and consequently interiors inspire me more than fashion right now. I also think pinning is an easy way to become more selective and improve one’s sense of aesthetics. I love the decor in the first picture – a hint of yellow makes it all the more interesting and fresh don’t you think.
