(Affiliate) Very, very few hairstyles beat a sleek wet look. It’s cool, sophisticated and has that raw masculine touch that we adore. Best of all? It’s super easy to do. Here is our favorite method and products you need to nail THE wet look this season!
Your favorite hairbrush, dry shampoo, wax and hair spray. Here are our favorites:
Hairbrush from Oribie, dry shampoo from Oribie, wax from Shu Uemura and hair spray from OUAI Haircare.
STEP 1 (VOLUNTARY):
I (C) usually start by drying my hair in the intended direction: in other words back. This is not a necessary step, but I like to do it for an extra effect. Psst… Be careful not to comb your hair when it’s wet. The strands can be fragile in this condition and break.
Calm your hair so it’s not to messy; we want it nice and even before the fun part. To add volume I (beside using my favorite volume products- which we will come back to!) use a good dry shampoo. My favorite is this one from Oribie! It blends nicely into my hair, gives a good lift and has a nice smell. After applying I tease my hair. Remember to stay close to the roots and keep working in the centre of your scalp – this is where you want that extra lift. In other words, no need for teasing your hair at the sides.
When the previous step is done, brush your hair carefully back and add some wax. Our new (or old?) favorite is of course the Shu Uemura Wax. It’s easy to work with (not to stiff), has a nice shine and the smell is everything. We were lucky enough to test their new super cool collaboration with Super Mario Bros, which we obviously are crazy about!! A little gift idea at the end there… Anyways, finish off with your favorite hairspray. And that’s it; wet look completed!
