ASJ Travel Style: KATARINA IN PONZA

The Crew, A Style Journey

(Affiliate) We’re already back from our vacations… and even though we’re not super excited about that – whoever was? – we have so much to share from our summer travels. And if you still have some days off left, you’ll really want to continue!

Dream destinations, hidden spots, new beauty favorites (and saviors!) and of course packing and styling tips to memorize for you next travels! First one out our Fashion Editor Katarina and her Ponza-style:

WHERE DID THIS YEAR’S SUMMER HOLIDAY GO TO?

This year’s summer holiday went to a little Island between Rome and Naples; Ponza. And there is only one thing to say, go there! Super cozy and still feels authentic and less touristic, compared to for instance Capri (which I still love with all my heart regardless!). The water is crystal clear, tons of intimate beaches, the houses are amazing and the food? Well, let’s just say it’s a seafood-lovers paradise!

YOUR THREE FAVORITE SPOTS

1. Jangada de Pedra and Punta del Fieno The hideout of the Italian poet Antonio de Luca is not possible to describe with words. You’re just like taken out of the reality and put into an old Italian movie. The house is located in the middle of nowhere on Punta del Fieno, surrounded by hills and vineyards – and silence. And did I mention the place is minutes away from two ‘private’ beaches? Utopia.

2. Cala Gaetana One of the many Cala’s on the island. This one is reachable by a steep path by feet and is super tranquil; not to many people nor boats. Also the water is clear and clean!

3. Il Melograno Grand Hotels restaurant located in a beautiful, ‘hidden’ back yard. Probably one of the most beautiful restaurant spots on the island, not to mention the food is AMAZING! Try the homemade pumpkin gnocchi. They’re a must!

WHAT CHARACTERIZES YOUR TRAVEL STYLE?

Casual elegance and multi-wear garments. I hate bringing to much when traveling, as well as vacations makes me want to dress up more, so wearable pieces in good materials are key!

Blazer from Edward Crutchley

…AND YOUR KEY GARMENTS?

This vacation my key garments has been a white round neck shirt, a beige blazer, fringe scarf and the Jacquemus hat. In other words, super wearable pieces that can be styled differently every time.

Blouse from Michael Kors

WHAT WAS YOUR GO-TO OUTFIT?

Definitely the fringe scarf combined with the white round neck shirt. For the beach I wore the shirt over my bikini or kept it in your bag and when losing time on getting dressed was the last thing I wanted I just wrapped the scarf around my hips like a skirt.

Swimsuit from Solid & Striped, bikini top from Zimmermann and bikini briefs from Zimmermann.

SWIMSUIT OR BIKINI?

I LOVE swimsuits, but this vacay was all about different bikinis. Simply too hot for swimsuit – BUT they were amazing tops though!

WHAT WAS YOUR SAVIOR DETAIL?

Definitely my Jacquemus hat! My outfits simply looked bored without it. Not to mention it worked as a parasol for both me and my boyfriend on the beach. That’s what I call a savior!

HAVE YOU HAD A ‘SECRET’ STYLING TRICK THIS VACATION?

Besides wearing the Jacquemus hat to everything? The fringe scarf! I’ve been using it in so many different ways. As a scarf, as a head scarf, as a top, a skirt and as a ‘belt’ detail around my blazer.

YOUR SUMMER BEAUTY FAVORITES

This vacation was almost a no makeup vacay, but the one makeup product I used was the new Giorgio Armani highlighter. And the last drops of my all-time favorite, Giorgio Armani liquid summer – that is sadly out of production…

When it comes to skincare products – which was my focus on the beauty front this vacation – I swore to my Exuviance pads, the day cream with SPF from Elixir, oil serum from Decléor, bionic serum from Exuviance and the Toleriane night cream from La Roche Posay.

…AND YOUR SIGNATURE SCENT?

I’m still obsessing over my Cuir Sacre from Atelier Des Ors.

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST: HAVE YOU HAD A FASHION LESSON THIS SUMMER?

Always bring your best hat!
